No matter which plan you choose, you get the full support of a world-class coaching system.
Yes, and Kathy's roster of athletes is proof. Through the Final Surge platform she can see every workout you complete in real time, including splits, heart rate, and effort. Combined with regular communication, she gets the same picture a track-side coach would, often a clearer one, because the data doesn't lie. Most of her athletes have never trained with her in person.
Apps generate plans from algorithms. They don't know that you had a brutal week at work, that your left knee has been niggling, or that your goal race moved by three weeks. Kathy does, because you tell her, and she adapts. That ongoing, two-way relationship is what separates coached athletes from self-trained ones. Beyond the responsiveness, there's simply no app built on 26 years of elite coaching experience, two Olympics, and the knowledge that comes from guiding athletes to national team selections and Olympic Trials qualifiers. Apps are a useful tool. A coach who has been there changes your trajectory.
All plans are delivered through Final Surge, a free-to-use training platform with apps for iOS and Android. It syncs with Garmin, Apple Watch, Wahoo, and most major devices, so your workouts upload automatically. Kathy sets up your account when you start, no technical hassle.
Life happens, and Kathy builds that into your plan. If you have a bad week, travel, get sick, or just need to back off, drop her an email and she'll adjust your training accordingly. Plans are never rigid. The goal is consistency over months, not perfection in any single week.
That depends entirely on your goals and current fitness, and Kathy will design around your actual availability. Beginners might start at 3–4 hours per week. Competitive athletes training for a marathon might be at 8–12 hours. There's no minimum. Kathy builds the plan around your life, not the other way round.
Bronze is a great starting point: you get a fully personalized weekly plan and unlimited email support. Silver adds a weekly call with Kathy for deeper feedback and relationship-building. Gold is for athletes who want maximum access and near-daily input. If you're unsure, just get in touch and Kathy will recommend the right fit for your goals and schedule.
Both. Kathy has coached complete beginners through to their first marathon, as well as elite athletes competing for Team USA and the Olympic Trials. The coaching approach changes. The commitment to your success doesn't. Every athlete on her roster gets personalised attention regardless of pace or experience level.
Yes, I offer coaching for companies training a team toward a shared race goal: a corporate 5K or 10K, a charity run, or a company running challenge. Every team has a different mix of abilities and goals, so we'll discuss the right approach for your group before building the program. Delivered remotely or in person, with pricing custom-quoted based on team size and no fixed minimum. Programs run as long or as short as your team needs.
For most runners chasing a real goal (a BQ, a first marathon, staying healthy through a full training block), yes. A coach catches overtraining before it becomes an injury, adjusts your plan around real life instead of a rigid template, and brings pattern-recognition from years of watching what actually works. Kathy has taken beginners to their first marathon and elite athletes to Olympic Trials qualifying times using the same individualized approach. The value compounds over a training cycle, not a single week.
Kathy's plans range from A$235 AUD/month (Bronze) to A$470 AUD/month (Gold), with discounts available for longer commitments and for elite athletes and students.
