Privacy Policy

What data the app stores

Ready to Run stores the following data locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults and app-sandboxed files):

• Your run log entries (date, distance, duration, notes)
• Daily readiness check-in responses (sleep, fatigue, soreness, stress, motivation scores)
• Race predictor inputs you've saved
• App preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it yourself (e.g. sharing a run or readiness card, or exporting your CSV).

Apple Watch companion

If you use the optional Apple Watch app to track runs, two additional permissions are requested:

• Location (GPS) — used only on-device to calculate the distance of your run. Location data is never stored in your run log and is never transmitted anywhere.
• Apple Health — the Watch app starts a HealthKit workout session when you begin a run. This is required by watchOS to keep the app running in the background while your wrist is lowered. Your completed run is saved to the Health app on your device as a workout record, exactly as it would be from any other fitness app.

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services and Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Notifications

The app can send a daily reminder to complete your readiness check-in. This is entirely optional — you are asked once during onboarding and can enable or disable it at any time in the app's settings. If you opt in, iOS will request notification permission. No notification content or timing data is transmitted anywhere; your preferred reminder time is stored only on your device.

What we do not collect

• No account or sign-in is required — we have no user accounts
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are included in the app
• No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
• No data is sent to any server operated by Ready to Run or Kathy Butler

Third-party services

The app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-brokerage services. Apple's standard iOS frameworks are used for on-device storage and app functionality only.

Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage information as part of iOS in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy, which is separate from this policy and governed by your device's privacy settings.

iCloud backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your app data may be included in your personal iCloud backup as part of normal iOS behaviour. This backup is private to your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's privacy policy — Ready to Run has no access to it.

Data export and deletion

You own your data. You can export your run log as a CSV at any time from within the app. To delete all app data, simply delete the app from your device — no data persists anywhere else.

Children

Ready to Run does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the app is suitable for users of all ages in this regard.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an app update.
