Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 July 2026

The short version: Run Foundations does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What data the app stores

Run Foundations stores the following data locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults and app-sandboxed files):

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it yourself (for example, using the coach share feature to send a summary to your coach).

Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your permission, Run Foundations writes workout sessions to the Apple Health app on your device when you complete a drill session. This records the activity type (Functional Strength Training) and duration, so your training appears alongside your other fitness data in Apple Health.

Run Foundations does not read any data from Apple Health. The workout data written to Health is stored entirely on your device and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Run Foundations never transmits HealthKit data to any server.

This permission is optional. The app functions fully without it. To grant or revoke HealthKit permission at any time, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Run Foundations on your iPhone.

Coach share

Run Foundations includes an optional coach share feature that lets you send a summary of your training activity to your coach. This share is initiated entirely by you — the app prepares a summary and hands it to iOS's standard share sheet. You choose the destination (email, message, etc.) and who receives it. Run Foundations does not transmit this data to any server on your behalf.

What we do not collect

Third-party services

The app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-brokerage services. No user data is shared with third parties. Apple's standard iOS frameworks are used for on-device storage and app functionality only.

Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage information as part of iOS in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy, which is separate from this policy and governed by your device's privacy settings.

iCloud backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your app data may be included in your personal iCloud backup as part of normal iOS behaviour. This backup is private to your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's privacy policy — Run Foundations has no access to it.

Data deletion

You own your data. To delete all app data, simply delete the app from your device — no data persists anywhere else. To remove workout data that was written to Apple Health, open the Health app, find the relevant entries, and delete them there.

Children

Run Foundations does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the app is suitable for users of all ages in this regard.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an app update.
